suki face

i love suki products for my skin! i first heard about suki in my body+soul magazine a few months ago and decided to try out her skin care line carried at my local co-op.

always a little skeptical,  i did some research on suki's products only to find that all of her products are organic, vegan and environmentally friendly. i freaked myself out a little by reading the green beauty guide, so i was happy to find a line that doesn't release toxins into my skin - and all of her products smell wonderful and leave my skin so soft (no joke!).

i've dealt with mild acne for some time now so i wanted to focus on things that won't clog my pores or overdry.  the best thing about her website is that you can search for products based on your skin type. simply lovely.

below is what i use on a daily basis...

i use this first thing in the morning to wake up my skin and slough off all the old junk (best thing about it is that the exfoliater is sugar so it's not damaging to your skin)

after cleansing, i spray on some of this toner to help minimize redness and balance my ph

this lotion is great because it's so light weight that it doesn't clog my pores

i use this lotion at night to help repair my skin while i sleep!

this tiny container packs a big punch (and lasts for months!). i just put a bit on and around my eyes in the morning and at night to ward against lines and puffiness.

refurb sunday

this is my first refurbishing go about... i think it turned out great for my first try!

i found this chair for sale at a local place that i heard of through simply grove 's blog.  i could have spent a week there but i didn't have the cash or the space in my car... but i didn't leave empty handed as you can see.

i removed the top back rest (mainly because i didn't have the tools to re-attach it properly, but i also thought it would give it a more streamlined look). i then sanded down the entire chair with a 100 grit sanding paper and primed it with kilz indoor primer.

i chose flame yellow from behr for the paint and a damask print from jo-ann fabrics.

i forgot to cover the bottom metal guards before priming it so they got half sprayed... i haven't decided what i'll do about that yet... and i think i would have changed the fabric from going east/west to north/south but i didn't even think about it... overall though i love it and i'm excited to incorporate it into my living space somehow!

 . . .

and this is my coffee table that i have been meaning to decoupage for months!

i chose a fine fiber asian paper. i like that it's so delicate yet 'mod'esque at the same time. looks quite cool next to the zebra rug huh!

i didn't anticipate the white fibers disappearing but i like that it looks like i applied each circle by hand... tricky, tricky.
